Here at aFinite we are currently seeking a proactive and ambitious Support Technician to join our expanding and forward-thinking IT company based in Leeds City Centre to provide integral technical support. This is an exciting time to join our fun and vibrant team following the win of multiple major projects.

You’ll play a key role as part of a small team, supporting clients through our helpdesk, providing server and end user support, active directory administration, troubleshooting, PC upgrades, recommending and quoting for new equipment and upgrades, alongside planning and working on major internal and external projects.

The foremost focus of this role will initially be on our Microsoft Cloud – Azure / Office 365 and Dynamics 365 internal project whilst supporting our other technicians with a variety of tasks including but not limited to:

  • Customising and administering Office 365 and Dynamics 365 for both us and our customers
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and application
  • Assisting clients resolve issues on a service desk basis – talking clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues
  • Quoting for new equipment and/or replacement parts as required
  • Prioritising and managing open cases, and responding within agreed time limits
  • Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong relevant experience and be able to discuss and demonstrate the following capabilities:

  • Ability to self-manage and prioritise tasks effectively
  • Interest in Cloud Technologies including Office 365 and Dynamics 365 configuration and customisation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to relate complex information to laypersons

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Understanding of TCP/IP addressing and routing, DNS and DHCP
  • Understanding of – Managed switches and VLANs
  • Strong experience deploying and administering Windows Server up to and including 2016
  • Familiarity with HP desktops, workstations, laptops and servers
  • Ability to diagnose and repair hardware, software, and Network problems on PC Servers and networks
  • Familiarity with Meraki, Watchguard and Draytek firewall, security and network products
  • Microsoft certifications for desktop and server operating systems and related technologies
  • Strong understanding of virtualisation platforms including Hyper-V, VMWare and Xen
  • Understanding of VLANs and managed switches
  • Experience with Veeam Backup and VMWare ESXi / vSphere
